You have just landed in the strange, but wonderful universe of Twitter.
I have to admit, in the beginning, (I think most of us can admit to this) I thought Twitter was THE stupidest thing I had ever seen. However, it did not take long for me to convert and now it seems I spend much time converting others everyday as well!

Yes, you will still read the odd blog post regarding Twitter and how the newbies and spammers are ruining it for the locals. All I have to say to the "Twitter Elitists" and their complaints is one word, well OK, maybe two. Two choices actually. Block. Remove. That simple!

If there are tweets that simply drive you up the wall, then you must be some sort of self induced torture freak! The beauty of this system is that it is for everyone and anyone! Period.
Twitter is out of control, yes, this is true. But out of control in a roller coaster ride for fun kind of way! I personally get a kick out of reading newbies tweets and try to help them out wherever I can. Spammers, let's face it, most of us using Twitter are making some sort of money online, (Yes, that means you too Mr. Elitist blogger who loves to hear his own typing!)

I usually let a couple of blatant spammish links go by from someone new to Twitter before I turf them completely. Let them have a chance, it was not that long ago that you made your first Tweet after all.

I is easy to get caught up in the excitement, or the "Well, if he can do it, so can I!" spur of the moment tweeting. It still happens to me where milliseconds after hitting the update button, my fingers have fleeting moments of guilt, or "Hhhm, maybe that was going a bit far?!"
I try not to worry about it, there are thousands of new Twitter followers out there just lined up behind the guy, or gal who just removed me.

Twitter is fast, it's fun and it can be very profitable. I like to call it Face Book, on speed.
And for those of you who have never seen the difference between using Twitter at night vs. during the day, I encourage you to visit some evening. I have actually belly laughed at some of the topics and Tweets going on in the evening! Seems like more relaxed Tweeters just have a better sense of humour somehow.

So the next time a questionable Tweet goes by, try not to take it, or yourself too seriously, K?
Give the new Tweeters a break and let a few slide by wontcha?

The Top 10 Things I Love About Working From Home

#1. Food. Yes, that's right, food. Now before you picture me at my computer constantly scarfing, that is not what I am getting at. When I worked outside of my home, meal planning only seemed to get done as I was locking up the shop. This meant arriving home with at least one bag stuffed with overpriced last minute meals from the "convenient" grocery store that just happened to be on my route home. Even then, this often meant calling from my cell phone to get someone to preheat the oven so I could just toss something frozen in towards the back and hope my family could wait the required time lapse for it to cook enough to be edible by humans.
Needless to say, the dogs did enjoy the deviation from routine kibble on may of these nights. Do fish sticks qualify for Omega 3’s…?
Now, in my HBB world, meals are planned for the evening by at least 11am, or whenever the first mid morning growl alerts me to the fact that at some point food must be ingested. This may be as simple as journeying down three flights of stairs to peruse the deep freeze for some sort of meat to build upon and carrying said meat back upstairs to thaw in time for the family’s evening meal. Who says women are not the hunter gatherers in the modern family dynamic?
I have even found myself earning many brownie points as I have been making home made bread once per week. (See a great recipe below) Before working from home, this happened once per month, (if they were lucky) and was a huge ordeal for me. Now, shortly after morning coffee and before traffic exchange surfing, the ingredients go in the bread machine not to be concerned with again until the sharp tones of the timer interrupt whatever major marketing breakthrough was about to be revealed. Down the stairs I go to attend my trusty Oster as it finishes the dough only cycle. I get to ride in like a hero, form the loaves or buns and set them to their last rise, just imperfect enough to ensure everyone is aware of my manual labor involved here. Wow, she really can multi task eh?!
Generally, this is how it goes, and I can truly feel good about feeding my family proper, nutritious meals on most days. Then there are those other days…. These are the days when I am actually on the phone with a “hot prospect” and all thoughts of family needs, nutrition, or even chocolate simply fly from consciousness. These are also known as “everyone fend for themselves” days by my family. I like to call them, “honey, you are taking me out ’cause I made the big bucks today” days.
All in all, happier, healthier and better relationships all around. Now, if I could also do something about hubbies expanding waistline...Hhhmmm, when did that start?

Awesome Breadmaker Buns
Works for me every single time, even when I am totally distracted and miss a step...
1/2 cup light cooking oil
1 large egg
2 tablespoon of lemon juice
3/4 tablespoon of salt
1/4 cup of sugar
2 1/4 cups of hot water
6 1/2 cups flour
1 tablespoon bread machine (quick rise) yeast

Measure oil out in to liquid measuring cup, add egg and beat slightly. Pour this in to bread maker and add salt, sugar, and lemon juice. Add 2 cups of the hot water (water should be very warm, but not hot enough to create scrambled egg here OK?) (reserve 1/4 cup water) and mix a bit in bottom of bread maker pan. Add all of the flour, make a small indent in top and carefully pour yeast in here. Now, put machine on dough cycle and let it start. After several minutes, carefully pour the reserved 1/4 cup of water in, a bit in each corner, just to help the dough ball pick up the last bit of dry ingredients that seem to store there. As my machine gets older, I often use a butter knife to help this initial mix process along. then, walk away, get back to work until timer sounds! Lately I have been setting my oven timer to go off a bit earlier than the bread machine as occasionally the dough will rise so much it touches the lid and makes a big mess! You will know after the first batch if you need to do this also.
Now after this first rise, you can remove the dough and punch it down. If you are really making headway at your home based business right at that moment, you can do what I often have to, and that is hit the dough cycle again on the machine and let it knead for several minutes. Depending on your machine, this is hard work for it and may not be recommended for all users! Form dough into tennis ball size orbs and place on a well greased pan. Also if I am short on time, I make one pan of buns and put the rest of the dough into a loaf pan...up to you. Let rise until doubled, 45 min to 1 hour. Bake in 325 oven for aprox. 20 minutes. Enjoy!

Getting Started with Twitter

The following is a result of an email follow up to phone conversations
about internet marketing!
OK Here goes,putting my money where my mouth is and posting this.
Twitter. No matter how stupid it looks to you at first,
don't discount how powerful it is!
Create an account, use the name you are trying to brand as your user name.
Write a great profile, bio and description, keep in mind that it is
constantly viewed by others checking you out and determining if they want
to follow, follow back, or they are weeding and may want to unfollow.
Do not be intimidated by all these ...follow words :)
Now, if they unfollow you, that's OK. If they do not follow you back,
only Ok if they have tweets you need. Otherwise, if they unfollow you
return that favor.
Why? Because when you hit 2000 following, Twitter prevents you from
following any more UNTIL your followers come up to match.
Everything online boils down to a numbers game eventually!
For example, I continually have to go through and unfollow people who are
inactive or their content doesn't fit my niche.
But, every time I do, I then find new ones to follow, and slowly my followers go up.
You'll figure that out later!
Start with Twitter by following as many people as possible!
I recommend at least 50-100 per day in the beginning,
if you are serious about using this tool!
I also use http://www.twollow.com and http://www.tweetlater.com you can pre set Tweets to go out and set up an automatic message people will get when they first follow you, make sure your link (URL) is set up in this message!
eg: Hey there, thanks for the follow, I look forward to your Tweets! How's it going for you lately, for more about me (or this is what I'm about) http://www.yourmoneyliberation.com
I also use Tweet Penguin to add followers specific to keywords, you can figure this out if you decide to use it, there are many tools for Twitter, most are FREE!
Always make it easy for people to follow you on Twitter Facebook etc
by including a button on your blog, in your You Tube descriptions
on Facebook, My Space etc.
Very important, when you supply your website (blog)
address (URL), always make it a live link!
How? Instead of www.itakerequests.com
type http://www.itakerequests.com
I know this is cumbersome at first,
Your fingers will just do it automatically after a while!
Especially in any of your profiles online, (Twitter, You Tube, Facebook etc)
Many people miss this.
Why is it important? People are a bit lazy true,
but the most important reason is that online there
is sooo much info coming at you, it is easy to get distracted and
THERE ARE 1000000000 PEOPLE BEHIND YOU
offering similar info, products, distractions etc.
If they have to copy and paste, write down or heaven forbid remember
your URL, you most likely have just lost them!
Especially important in updates on Twitter, Facebook, and in
your emails also.
Supply good content everywhere, don't just blast them with your site
constantly, eg: Quotes, encouragement, interesting articles you've found,
upcoming events etc
Mix in your direct marketing of course, just be subtle.
You are forming relationships and branding yourself.
This is a good analogy: Your blog is your office, invite people in for a visit.
Your updates are your "invitations"
In your office they can see your product and get your help with their
"problem" eg You sell weight loss solutions,
find articles, success stories etc and have them on your blog
and give them away for free.
Become the helpful expert on their issues!
If you drive people straight to your "money site" and they
visit but end up leaving, you have lost them forever.
If you drive them to your blog, they may not spend money at that time,
but they leave happy with some new info at least,
and curiosity will send them back later to see what else you've
got for them. They will also tell others, trust me,
everyone wants to be the first to tell everyone about something cool!
Facebook is built on this!
Make it easy, or at least remind them, to bookmark your site.
That way you make it simple for them to come back!
Better yet, create a capture form on your blog
where you collect their names and email addresses
so that you can slowly offer them more, keep them updated
and bring them back.
This gets us in to auto responders, whole new marketing lesson
and I can't type much more right now!
I know thousands of people, anyone using You Tube for
example are always looking for Royalty free music they can use.
If you supplied several short tracks of free "mood" music (eg happy, upbeat, dramatic etc)
Ask for visible credit in return, IE Music by Tim Tamashiro at http://www.....
Imagine how that explodes your name out there on hundreds of You Tube
videos!!!

Or, even better, if you are going to do something,
start teasing people with info about it!
this is so huge, press releases, article submits,
all free advertising that drive traffic straight to you!

Explain this Video

What is this video doing here!? Besides the fact that it features one good lookin' horse, Mystic, it was actually produced by me! It is a bit rough and I have plans to improve it, but not bad for a first attempt eh? It was done with special software called Mind Movies (Please check it out here http://mindmovies.com/vid1-2/?1180 ) and it is fun to work with because instead of the usual sales information pitch, it offers the opportunity to add emotion with additional images gathered from one's own collection, or from the web. Yes, the property is real, it is for sale and it belongs to us! Sadly, we must sell it and move on. This video is gaining attention fast and is a dynamic new way to market, well, anything really!

My affiliate journey continues and I am so excited to watch my sales grow! This is similar to the feeling I had when I owned the retail store, watching sales climb and seeing my instincts pay off!
One of the things I truly loved selling in my traditional brick and mortar store was books. I am a voracious reader and love recommending books to others, getting together afterwards and discussing them only adds to the enrichment of each book and what it does for us as individuals!
Of course, there are many books that have changed my life and as I build a team of networkers, friends and contacts, I look forward to many discussions about these very same books. Ok, this is a quagmire of information and I feel like a sponge! Affiliate Marketing, not ready yet but what the hey, loved these so I just couldn't wait until I knew what I was/am doing.
